10 July 2024
Reach World Wide Australia (RWW)

At Lyndarum North, we believe local groups and organisations play a vital role in enriching and enhancing our community. With this in mind, we established our Community Grants Program to support the significant work these groups undertake within Wollert and the wider Whittlesea community.

We are excited to announce the successful recipients of the 2024 program and the valuable projects this funding will contribute towards.

Reach World Wide Australia (RWW)

Reach World Wide is an emergency food provider in the City of Whittlesea. RWW distribute free food hampers to low-income earners, elderly people, single parents, refugees, and international students who are in an untenable circumstance with regard to access to food. In a week, the program delivers and distributes food to approximately 150 individuals in the different suburbs of Whittlesea Council. RWW also runs a School Breakfast Club, providing free breakfast and stationery to 300 primary school children facing food vulnerability.

Since 2023, RWW have been running community pantries in Lalor and Mernda. Following the successful uptake of these community pantries, the Wollert/Kirrip Community Centre has requested similar support. RWW will be using the grant funds to support the growing demand for their food delivery programs in the Wollert community.

The group runs a partnership with a few local schools, as well as with the broader community, and hosts sessions around revegetation, water surveys, seed production, cultural heritage, and more.

Wollert Community Farm will use the grant funds to help overcome some of the barriers preventing participation in the nugal biik program, including supplying fuel vouchers for Rangers and providing regular lunches.
