Lyndarum North, Wollert, VIC.

2019 Lyndarum North Community Grants Program.
At Lyndarum North we believe local groups and organisations are integral to the fabric of our community. With this in mind, we established our Community Grants Program with the aim of reinforcing our support for the significant work these groups undertake within the Whittlesea community.

We are thrilled to announce the successful recipients of the 2019 program and the fantastic projects this funding will go towards.

Whittlesea Community Connections
Whittlesea Community Connections (WCC) is a local, independent and community-led organisation that provides a range of free and confidential support services and programs for those in need. WCC will utilise the grant funding for a community engagement event that aims to facilitate community consultation for the unique needs of the Epping and Wollert area.

St Mary’s College for the Deaf
St Mary’s College for the Deaf was established in 1948 and was the first oral school to open in Victoria. Offering an inclusive educational experience to deaf and hard of hearing children, the school plans to use the grant funding to install sound field systems at their South Morang campus. This system improves the learning environment by enhancing the sound facilities of the classroom, ensuring an even distribution of sound from the teachers, students and multi-media equipment.

Whittlesea Men’s Shed

The Whittlesea Men’s Shed provides a supportive space for men to gather together and discuss their health and wellbeing while participating in activities that help improve their physical health. The Men’s Shed will use the grant to replace a metal milling machine and its accessories; items vital to the operation of the Shed. Replacing this machine will expand the level of service the organisation can offer to community members.

Congratulations again to our successful recipients and thank you again to all who applied. Keep an eye out for the submission opening date for our 2020 program!
